We're going to the Thassos by car

.

Because it is the northernmost Greek island of Thassos, it is easily accessible for those traveling by car. In addition, this mode of transport has a number of advantages. In this article you will find all the necessary information on how to get to Thassos by car.

No worries, this is the first thing I answer to our clients when asked "we can drive to Thassos by car". Indeed, the vast majority of the road leads along quality highways, so the road passes very quickly. There are more than enough of our clients who come to us on their own axis every year. And among them are those who drive to Thassos every year for several years. Going out when you want, stopping when and where you want, having a car still available on vacation, these are just some of the benefits of a vacation car.

So which way and for how much?

Which way

Nowadays, the navigation does not need to explain in detail where to go, where to turn, etc. Simply enter the destination in the navigation (in our case the trip to Thassos it will be Keramoti Ferry Dock or Kavala Ferry Dock) and you do not have to worry about the rest. There are a lot of navigations, we recommend some with offline maps. Navigation to your phone or tablet from SYGIC is great. In the basic, fully sufficient version, it is free and you can download all the maps of the states you will pass through to your device in advance. Thanks to this, it will not be necessary to be constantly connected to the Internet, you will save both data and possible problems with the Internet connection.

Routes and states we pass through

Brno - Bratislava - Budapest (Hungary) - Belgrade - Nis (Serbia) - Skopje (Northern Macedonia) - Kavala (Greece)

2. The most famous: the Czechia, Slovakia, Hungary, Serbia, Bulgaria, Greece

Bratislava (Slovakia) - Budapest (Hungary) - Belgrade - Nis (Serbia) - Sofia (Bulgaria) - Kavala (Greece)

Information on road and tolls:

Slovakia: Although the motorway network is not very extensive, a toll must be paid. In Slovakia, the stamp is electronic, you can buy it at border crossings, petrol stations or online in advance on the official eZnamka website. The price of a 30-day stamp is €14 and 10-day is €10. The price of fuel, similar to that in the Czech Republic, is around €1.20.

Hungary: Even in Hungary, the motorway sign is in electronic form. You can buy it at border crossings and at practically all petrol stations, points of sale are marked with e-VIGNETTE or MATRICA signs. You can also buy online, but why not combine the purchase of a stamp with a coffee shop at a gas station. The price of a 30-day stamp is 4780 Ft. Fuel price similar to ours 400Ft.

Serbia: Tolls are paid at toll gates. The first toll is in front of Belgrade. There is nothing to worry about, you will always pick up only the ticket at one toll gate, when you enter the paid section, and at the exit from the paid section you will return the ticket and pay the fee for the given section. You can also pay in euros or by card. It's nice to have change. In total, you will pay € 11.50 for tolls in Serbia look here (Beograd - Vranje). The price of fuel in Serbia is slightly higher than in the Czech Republic), we recommend refueling in Hungary and then in Macedonia.

Macedonia:Tolls are paid at toll gates. For the whole trip to Macedonia you pay only 3 times, always about 1,50€. Fuel price approx. 1€. Before leaving Macedonia, refuel to the full, it pays off.

Greece: Tolls are paid at toll gates. In our case it is between Thessaloniki (Thessaloniki) and Kavala or Keramoti, depending on which port you sail by ferry from. Tolls are paid 3x (0,9€, 2,40€, 1,80€). The price of fuel is about 1,50€
